The application form and informational brochure for the 2010-11 school year are now available. Applications are due by April 28 at 6:00pm so apply ASAP.
The
School Committee(Parent Council) meeting scheduled for 5:00 p.m. March 10 is
postponed to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 17 in the staffroom.
The agenda will include the status of the School Resource Officer program, the
WSD Budget and the change to a semester structure for 2010-2011.
For all of the Tec Voc students in grad 12 and to all of their parents our important Grad fundraiser is taking place Friday April 16th at Silverado's on McPhillips. It is a bud, spud and steak event with loads of auction prizes up for grabs. Tickets are $15, with all of the profits going to help pay for the grade 12 grad dinner and dance. To purchase tickets please call the school at 786-1401 or talk to any members of the grad committee.
If you want to get involved to help make your child's grad a safe affordable and memorable experience please attend the next set of grad parent committee meetings. They are on March 16th and April 15th at 6pm in the Tec Voc Cafeteria. Parent/Guardian help is still needed to help run the dinner and dance, and without enough volunteers the dinner and dance cannot happen.
Tec Voc Theatre Productions is proud to be presenting the play Arsenic and Old Lace.

On March 2nd in the morning advisor students will be registering for their classes for the 2010-11 school year. Please discuss with your child their choices for next year and help them formulate a plan for their future, including graduation and post highschool work.
UPDATE: On Tuesday, with the help of their advisors, students filled out their registration form for next year. Students are now required to bring this form home to their parents or guardians and discuss their course selections for next year. The parents/guardians are then required to sign the registration sheet and have the student return their registration form to their advisor by Friday March 5th. By returning their registration to their advisor by this day, students insure the best possibility of getting all of their course selections for next year. Students can make changes to their registration forms after this date by meeting with a councillor, as long as their is space in the desired course(s).
Report Cards were mailed out last week (February 16 and 17) and will have arrived home by now. Parents are now incouraged to attend Parent Teacher conferences on Tuesday March 2nd from 5:30 to 8:30 to ask questions and help formulate a strategies to address problems and concerns with your child's (childrens') teachers. Parents of grade 12 students are highly encouraged to attend if you have any concerns over your child's performance and how it relates to your child's graduation potential in June.
If you are not able to attend Tuesday's parent teacher conference please call the school at 786-1401 and arrange with the teacher(s) a time to meet and discuss your child. Only with your help can our children reach their true potential.
