About Welding Technology
The Welding program will give students a wide variety of welding and fabrication experience by exploring the many different and exciting aspects of the welding trade.
Students in Welding will develop the following skills:
– Metallurgy, GMAW, Oxy/Acetylene, GTAW, and SMAW processes
– Plasma cutting and plasma CNC processes
– Training for CWB Welding Certification

Who Should Enroll?
Welding is looking for students who are active participants in their learning, like working with a team, and like designing their own projects. Students who take welding are willing to take initiative, results driven and self-starters.
Employment Opportunities
Students who successfully complete the Welding program are qualified to find a job in the welding industry, farm manufacturing or can continue their studies at post-secondary institutions.
Additional Information
Students in Welding have the option to train for their CWB Welding Certification. There is an incredible shortage of welders in Manitoba making it easier to find employment.
